christmas

i can hardly believe that christmas is only 5 days away!!! i hope i'm not the only one!! :) suprisingly, i haven't really been busy. i bought my last two gifts yesterday, although i might buy one more. i would tell you what i got everybody, but there might be sneaky family members that would find out their presents, so......... :) tomorrow my cousins come over. they live 30 minutes away, and they go to public school so i don't get to see them much. then tuesday they and my uncle will come over and make some Christmas cookies. we'll go to nana and poppop's for Christmas. it'll be so fun. christmas has really snuck up on us this year.

this is my favorite time of year. all the christmas lights and the air smelling of wood fires and cinnamon; the cookies and the turkey and all the friends and family gathering around to celebrate the birth of Jesus, this time of year compares to no other. like our pastor said in church this morning, not only is christmas a holiday, but a holyday. if it hadn't been for christmas and Jesus being born, we wouldn't have our salvation. christmas really makes you think, doesn't it! :)
