You can't sink if you're swimming.  God's grace is an ocean, and we swim right through it.  We try to stay afloat in this life, but that's not what we're supposed to do.  Jesus said to abide in Him, to stay in Him.  He wants us to sink into His grace, and we can't if we're swimming.
